SOMIEDO EXPERIENCE is a concept where the imposing nature of the Somiedo Nature Park is the protagonist, a vision away from the usual activities of active tourism, a way of combining and enjoying the different elements that this place offers us and ultimately an experience in and with nature.

The Somiedo Nature Park is a sanctuary for species including the wolf, the chamois, the golden eagle, the otter, the fox, etc., and organized outings for the sighting of wild animals are increasingly requested due, among other factors, to the increasingly frequent encounters with the Cantabrian brown bear. The best way to get to know Somiedo is, without a doubt, walking. There are numerous well-signposted trails and routes suitable for all hikers, which allow you to discover the most representative corners of the nature park. For more information visit the Park Information Center.

Mountain biking is, more and more, an exciting activity that can be done in Somiedo. There are ideal routes to enjoy the park on two wheels without the protected environment suffering any alteration. More info in Mountain Bike Somiedo.

Winter in Somiedo offers the opportunity to see a totally different landscape. In addition to being very close to the Leitariegos ski resort, in Somiedo there are perfect places to practice cross-country skiing and to go on snowshoe excursions. Snowshoe rental in Somiedo Experience.

One of the best ways to get to know Somiedo, in a relaxed way and keeping in touch with nature, is by doing some of its routes on horseback. This activity will allow you to go further with all family members. More info at Horseback Riding El Chugarín.

The human communities of Somiedo have been writing their own history about the landscape, and the SOMIEDO ECOMUSEUM tries to recover, read and interpret that text. Through the paths and towns of the park, the visitor will find numerous vestiges of that history.

The Somiedo pool is a modern facility recently built. It has a heated and covered pool to be used at any time of the year, and also a gym, jacuzzi and solarium at very affordable prices. More info click here.

The Somiedo Nature Park Interpretation Center is located in Pola de Somiedo. In it, the visitor can collect information about the Nature Park. It has a permanent exhibition room and an audiovisual room where the values of the Park are displayed, as well as a Library with reference books on all the Protected Areas of Asturias.

In this center the visitor can learn about the relationship that the inhabitants of the region have maintained with the brown bear since time immemorial. Games for the little ones, unpublished and high-quality images recorded by the FOP teams, or an itinerary to track the tracks of species, are some of the activities that are organized.
